The 10 films competing for the 2015 Lux Prize were revealed at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on 09 July 2015, including five by first-time directors, a mix of genres and the selection's first-ever Icelandic film. On 24 July 2015, it was announced which three films had been shortlisted for the finals: Mediterranea by Jonas Carpignano, Mustang, by Deniz Gamze Ergüven and Urok (The Lesson) by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov. Those would be screened all over the European Union as part of the Lux Film Days. The European Parliament awards the prize to the best European film every year. |
