A Germanwings flight crashed on 24 March 2015 in the French Alps as a result of an intentional action by the plane's co-pilot, killing 150 people. The European Parliament's transport committe held a discussion on 29 June 2015 on how to prevent similar incidents, as such tragedy raised relevant questions about air safety rules. The European Commission and Patrick Ky, executive director of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), also took part in the debate. They also discussed the recommendations of an EASA task force dedicated to the crash. |
