The 30th session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) started in Brussels on 7 December 2015. Co-President Louis Michel told those attending the meeting that Fortress Europe was not 'a solution and is unworthy of the humanist values that Europe defends'. The ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) brings together MEPs and MPs from 78 European Union (EU) and African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states that have signed the Cotonou Agreement, which is the basis for ACP-EU cooperation and development work. In parallel, the EU and the ACP countries agreed to join forces in reaching an ambitious and binding global climate deal, as negotiations took place in Paris. |
