On 7 January 2015 the European Commission published a set of texts setting out EU proposals for the legal text in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) as a part of the negotiation process with the US. This was the first time the Commission had made public such proposals in bilateral trade talks and reflected its commitment to greater transparency in the negotiations.
