Press Release: European Commission launches a call for tender to establish a Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) project network in Europe

The European Commission was preparing to establish a network of projects to demonstrate the use of CCS technology in power plants. The Commission launched a call for tender for an external service provider to assist in establishing and running the network. The deadline for submission of tenders was 6 October 2008 and the selection process should be completed by the beginning of 2009.
