Press Release: EU gives full effect to UN arms embargo against the Central African Republic

On 23 December 2013 the Council banned the export of arms and related material from the EU to the Central African Republic, to give full effect in the EU to UN Security Council resolution 2127 (2013) of 5 December. The prohibitions also covered the provision of financial and technical assistance, including armed mercenary personnel.
