Press Release: Environment Council meeting, Luxembourg, 25 October 2012

The Council had a policy debate on the proposal for a regulation on ship recycling. The Council adopted conclusions on:
– the follow-up to the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, which was held in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.
– the preparation for the 18th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 8th session of the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, which will take place in Doha (Qatar), from 26 November to 7 December 2012.
