The European Banking Authority (EBA) released on the 24 February 2016 the methodology and macroeconomic scenarios for the 2016 EU-wide stress test. The stress test was designed to provide supervisors, banks and other market participants with a common analytical framework to consistently compare and assess the resilience of EU banks to economic shocks. For this exercise, no single capital thresholds have been defined as the results will inform the 2016 round of Supervisory Review and Evaluation Processes (SREP) under which decisions are made on appropriate capital resources. The EBA expected to publish the results of the exercise on the 29 July 2016 |
