On 16 March 2015, the European Union welcomed the resumption of the United Nations - facilitated political dialogue in Rabat and called on all Libyan parties to participate constructively to ensure the rapid formation of a Government of National Unity able to take forward the democratic transition and restart the reconstruction of the country.
