Press Release: Council adopts new measures to cut broadband costs

On 8 May 2014, the Council of European Union adopted a directive which will make it easier and cheaper to roll out high-speed electronic communications networks , among other things by promoting the joint use of infrastructure, such as electricity, gas and sewage pipes statement.

The directive includes, inter alia, the following provisions:
- Access to existing infrastructure
- Access to infrastructure information
- Coordination of civil works
- Dispute settlement bodies and single information points
- New buildings
- "Broadband-ready" label
- Property rights
