Press Release: Commissioner Avramopoulos and Minister Asselborn in Athens: First Relocation Flight from Greece

On 4 November 2015 the first relocation flight from Greece took place with the presence of the European Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs, Dimitris Avramopoulos, the Luxembourg Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, the European Parliament President, Martin Schulz, and the Greek Alternate Minister of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction responsible for Migration Policy, Ioannis Mouzalas.

Thirty asylum seekers from Syria and Iraq boarded a plane for Luxembourg.
