The Transport Committee on 30 September 2013 voted against proposals to improve crew protection against fatigue.

The new legislation aims at modernising the current EU safety rules governing the fatigue of aircrew, commonly called "flight and duty limitations and rest requirements" (or "flying time limitations"- FTL).

As a next step, the motion for rejection will be considered by the European Parliament plenary in October 2013.
