Press Release: Agreement reached on access to the market of biocidal products

The Permanent Representatives Committee on 11 December 2013 approved a compromise agreed with the European Parliament on a draft regulation amending the biocides regulation 528/2012/EU.
It herewith endorsed a compromise reached between the Lithuanian presidency and representatives of the European Parliament and the Commission on 2 December.

The objective of the existing regulation is to improve the functioning of the internal market in biocidal products whilst ensuring a high level of environmental and human health protection.
