The European Development Days (EDDs) started in Brussels on 26 November 2013. The EDDs are Europe’s premier forum on global cooperation and development. This year will focus on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and on the global framework which will succeed them by 2015.

On 26 November 2013, a Special Eurobarometer survey on EU Development Aid and the Millennium Development Goals was published. The key results of that survey showed that tackling poverty in developing countries should be one of the main priorities of the European Union, according to 66% of EU citizens. Also, seven out of ten people (69%) believe that helping these countries is also good for the EU, benefiting its citizens.
