Post-Programme Surveillance Report. Spain, Spring 2016

European Economy Institutional Papers are important reports and communications from the European Commission to the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on the economy and economic developments.

This fifth surveillance report provides an assessment of Spain's economic, fiscal and financial situation following its exit from the financial assistance programme in January 2014. A team from the European Commission (EC), in liaison with staff from the European Central Bank (ECB), carried out the fifth post-programme surveillance visit to Spain on 11-13 April 2016. The report also covers the specific monitoring of policy progress by the Commission in the context of the Macroeconomic Imbalances Procedure (MIP).
