Poland masterminds gas trading hub for Central Europe

EurActiv reported in September 2014 on the steps Poland was taking towards towards creating a gas trading and transit hub in Central and Eastern Europe aimed at shaking off its almost complete reliance on Russian gas imports.

According to research developed by the environment think tank E3G and published in September 2014, the European Union risked wasting billions of euros on unnecessary gas infrastructure because of pressure to wean itself off Russian energy after the Ukraine crisis.
