Offshore floating turbines ‘could power Europe four times over’

A report published by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) in July 2013 said that new floating turbine designs are cost-competitive with fixed-bottom designs in deep seas, and could be market-ready by 2017 – with massive electricity-generating potential.

According to the report 'energy produced from turbines in deep waters in the North Sea alone could meet the EU’s electricity consumption four times over'.
