An increased influx of refugees and asylum seekers to Norway could increase the threat from right-wing extremists, the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) said on 24 September 2015. Earlier media reports showed that refugees were reportedly using bicycles to cross the Arctic border into Norway to exploit a legal loophole in the country's immigration controls. However, local election results unveiled in September 2015 also showed strong support to those parties in favour of accepting refugees. Although not part of the European Union, Norway signed the Schengen agreement. |
