Media reports suggested in late March 2016 that People's Front - the party of Ukraine's prime minister Arseny Yatseniuk - had agreed with president Petro Poroshenko's faction and the Fatherland party to form a new government alliance. Support for Mr Yatsniuk had tumbled in the previous months, but he was so far refusing to step down until a new coalition agreement was signed. Parliamentary speaker Volodymyr Groysman, a 38-year-old former mayor and ally of Mr Poroshenko, was put forward by several sources as the next in line to take the prime minister's office. |
