Montenegro optimistic on NATO membership invite

Ambassadors of NATO's North Atlantic Council met in Montenegro's capital Podgorica on 14 October 2015, which was seen as a signal of the alliance's resolve to invite the country to join it by December. Montenegro showed its optimism on the possibility, over the objections of Russia.

Media sources said the organisation was ready to formally invite the country to join NATO in December 2015.
