The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) announced on the 2 April 2014 that it would refrain from cutting its interest rates further, at least for the time being.

Deutsche Welle wrote that the decision meant it rated signs of a nascent recovery in the eurozone higher than growing fears of deflation in the eurozone.
