Migrant spat brews between Austria and Hungary

Hungarian authorities refused on 9 June 2016 to take back any of the several thousand migrants that Austria defends should be returned under rules from the European Union, adding to a brewing spat between the two neighbouring countries.

In September, Austria threatened Hungary with legal action if the country did not start abiding by EU refugee laws. The Hungarian government remained unmoved, according to media reports.
