EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion László Andor on 11 June 2013 welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament of the Commission's proposal for a Directive to update and improve EU rules to protect workers from electromagnetic fields in their workplace. The rules would protect workers such as doctors and nurses giving patients magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRI), people working with radar, welders and workers repairing power lines.
