Report of severe flooding along central Europe rivers such as the Elbe and Danube in June 2013.

The European Commission stood ready to help in the wake of floods in Austria, Czech Republic and Germany, as outlined by a statement by Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn on the 3 June 2013.

Chancellor Angela Merkel pledged €100m in immediate aid on 4 June 2013 during a visit to flood-stricken areas of Germany.
