The European Commission welcomed the order of the President of the Court of First Instance issued on 27th January 2009 dismissing a request from Intel Corp (case Case T-457/08 R) to defer the deadline for replying to a Supplementary Statement of Objections sent in the framework of the Commission's antitrust investigation against Intel Corp and seeking access to additional documents in the Commission's file. The Commission was pleased that the CFI President has confirmed that the Commission's antitrust investigation should not be suspended. The Commission's investigation remains ongoing. The legal deadline for Intel's reply to the Supplementary Statement of Objections passed on 17th October 2008, and Intel had not replied. The Commission could not comment on the specific steps in the investigation that the Commission may now take. |
