Martin Schulz’s presidential agonies

Features discusses the political ambitions of the long-serving President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, whose term of office should come to an end in January 2017.

It was suggested that he was campaigning to stay on for a further term until 2019, but that there was opposition to this from Political Groups other than his own Socialist Group.

Alternatively, he might return to German domestic politics.
