Letter of congratulations from President Donald Tusk to Sorin Grindeanu on his appointment as Prime Minister of Romania

On the 5 January 2017, on behalf of the European Council, Donald Tusk congratulated Sorin Grindeanu on his appointment as Prime Minister of Romania.

He reminded him, that he took the lead of the government as Romania as the country celebrated 10 years of accession to the European Union on 1 January 2017 and would prepare for the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2019.
