Leading firms seek sanctions against ‘EU president’ Hungary

EUObserver reports that thirteen European companies wrote a joint letter to the European Commission January 2011 asking for sanctions against Hungary over a set of special taxes imposed on foreign investors. The row came just as Budapest took over the rotating EU Presidency and came on top of an existing controversy over its strict media law.
