Last EU evacuees to leave Libya by mid-week

By the 28 February 2010 only 500 or so EU citizens who want to leave Libya following unrest there were still in the country.

The news emerged as the European Union adopted sanctions including an arms embargo to be placed on the Gaddafi regime.
