A spokesperson of the European Commission announced on 23 February 2015 that President Jean-Claude Juncker had cancelled a meeting with Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski which was scheduled to take place three days later. The political tensions in FYR Macedonia were the reason behind the cancellation, which was agreed between the two sides. The situation in the country was tense, after opposition leader Zoran Zaev published audio tapes that he said demonstrated the government's total control over the judiciary and the media. |
