Italian Industry Minister Federica Guidi stated on 19 November 2014 that the Sourth Stream project, while still a useful infrastructure, was no longer a priority for the country. The project has been put into doubt since the Ukrainian crisis started in 2013. The Italian state-owned oil producer Eni has been involved with the South Stream, but some EU sources told EurActiv that the project, designed to bring Russian gas directly to Europe, bypassing Ukraine, was "dead" following Crimea's annexation by Russia. |
