One day after the bail-out for Ireland on the 28 November 2010 the article looks at how markets reacted. The overall mood was that the Irish rescue had failed to contain the fears of contagion washing over the eurozone. Markets’ attention was increasingly moving from the smaller countries of the so-called periphery, such as Ireland, Greece and Portugal, and centring on Spain and Italy, two of the eurozone’s biggest economies. |
