EurActiv reported in September 2015 on a tent village of refugees springing up in Brussels. Hundreds of tents meaning hundreds of people being helped out by ordinary citizens in place of the largely absent Belgian authorities.

According to the website, it was taking refugees up to five days to submit their asylum application to the 'Foreigners' Office' set up by the authorities.
