Iceland’s EU bid is over, commission told

The country's foreign minister of Iceland, Mr Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, told the European Commission on the 13 June 2013 that Iceland's bid to join the EU is over. Both parties in the new government had campaigned against EU accession beforehand.
