Health experts wary of commission reshuffle

Health professionals expressed concerned in October 2014 that new European Commission President Juncker had proposed to move responsibility for the European Medicines Agency and health technology issues from the Commission department for health and consumers to the department for the internal market.

Mr Juncker confirmed on 22 October 2014 that pharmaceutical drugs and medical technology would remain under the department of health (DG Sanco) during his first mandate.
