Denmark's green party - the Socialist People's Party (SF) - decided on the 30 January 2014 to leave the coalition with the Social Democrats over Goldman Sachs's acquisition of the country's largest energy company, DONG Energy.

However, the party announced that it was not bringing down the centre-left minority government led by Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

Berlingske noted that this may suit the purposes of the other parties in the coalition, the Social Democrats and Social-Liberals, and that the two parties would be quite able to continue governing in a minority government.
