Greece agrees €11.5bn spending cuts

Greece’s three-party coalition reached agreement on the 1 August 2012 on €11.5bn of spending cuts over the following two years after the socialist party leader Evangelos Venizelos dropped objections to further planned reductions in pensions and public sector wages.
