Report of a meeting of Germany's coalition partners, Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Bavarian sister-party the Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Social Democrats (SPD) held on the 5 November 2015 to discuss the substantial migration challenges facing Germany. The three parties agreed to plans to speed up repatriations of rejected asylum-seekers from five new reception centres. There would also be a new streamlined ID system and a central database for asylum-seekers. The coalition partners rejected a CDU / CSU proposal for closed 'transit zones' to be set up along the Austrian border. |
