Full entry into force of the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova

The Association Agreement (AA) between the European Union and Moldova entrered into full force on 1 July 2016, following its signature in June 2014. Substantial parts of the agreement had already been provisionally applied since 1 September 2014.

An Association Council was created to supervise and monitor the application and implementation, as well as periodically review the functioning of the agreement in light of its objectives. Its first meeting was held in March 2015 and the second a year later.
