A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held on 18 July 2016 in Brussels. The agenda included the following topics:

+ The situation in Turkey, including the implications of the attempted coup on the 15 July 2016;

+ The fight against terrorism, in the context of the terrorist attack in Nice on the 14 July 2016;

+ Relations with Latin America, including some country specific issues: future relations with Cuba, the peace process in Colombia, Argentina and the situation in Venezuela;

+ Relations with China The discussion will be based on a joint communication by the High Representative and the European Commission on elements for a new EU strategy on China and on the outcome of the EU-China summit, 12-13 July 2016;

+ EU actions and priorities on migration;

+ The proposed EU global strategy for foreign and security policy, which had been presented by the High Representative to the European Council on 28 June 2016.
