Europe’s downpayment on democracy

Commentary feature. The victory of people power in Tunisia and Egypt in the early months of 2011, writes the European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy. However, it is just the start. The European Union now stands ready to help both countries to build the foundations of lasting, deep democracy including using the European Investment Bank and, maybe also, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
