The European Commission announced on 21 February 2018 a reorganisation of its senior management, including of the team working directly with the President of the Commission.

Further information:

The decision to reinforce the positions in senior management was seen as important to carry forward the delivery of the priorities set up by the Commission.

Following the wish of Secretary-General Alexander Italianer to retire, the European Commission also decided to appoint Martin Selmayr as its new Secretary-General, while President Juncker appointed Clara Martinez Alberola as his new Head of Cabinet and Richard Szostak as his new Deputy Head of Cabinet.
