Article reports that some of Europe’s leading football clubs are preparing to oppose plans by Uefa, the governing body, to curtail the ability of club owners to buy their way to success.

A campaign by Michel Platini, Uefa’s President, against financial excess in the game culminated on the 15 September 2009 in its executive committee approving his Financial Fair Play agenda, which will come into force over the 2009-2012.
