Euro MPs back pesticide controls

European Parliament negotiators struck a compromise with Council of the European Union representatives on the 17 December 2008 in trialogue discussions on the final shape of new EU pesticides legislation. The full Parliament voted on the second-reading deal in Strasbourg on the 13 January 2009 and the proposal will then be formally endorsed by the full Council in due course.
