EU still a model for a volatile world

Editorial argues that despite the sovereign debt crisis in the eurozone and other challenges facing the European Union, today's global issues still demand international solutions.

The EU represents the world’s most advanced experiment in interstate co-operation and in the pooling of national sovereignty. If the EU fails, the most ambitious model for international co-operation will fail with it.
