EU officials must slash expenses, warns Brussels

EUObserver reports that the European Commission has said EU institutions and agencies should show solidarity with crisis-hit EU citizens by, restricting the expansion of their internal spending and expenses in 2011. But cuts, such as scrapping EU agencies of institutions such as the Committee of the Regions are not foreseen.
