EU launches reaction to Russian campaigns of disinformation

	Summary: The European Council launched in March 2015 a challenge to Russia's alleged campaign of public disinformation on the conflict in Ukraine. EU leaders requested an Action Plan on strategic communication to be developed and presented at a later stage. The Action Plan on Strategic Communication was released on 22 June. It outlines the measures foreseen in relation to EU Strategic Communication on issues related to the Eastern neighbourhood and beyond, as well as wider EU efforts in support of media freedom and strengthening of the overall media environment.
