EU-Georgia Association Agreement fully enters into force

The Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia entered into full force on 1 July 2016, following its signature in June 2014. Substantial parts of the agreement had already been provisionally applied since 1 September 2014.

Since its signature, trade between the two sides was substantially enhanced, and Georgia adopted European standards in several legislative areas. It was further announced that an Association Agenda was under preparation.
