Report of comments by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso as he met Iceland's new Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson in Brussels on the 16 July 2013.

In regards to the current suspension of negotiations for Iceland to join the EU instigated by Mr Gunnlaugsson after the election in April 2013 Mr Barroso said that 'The clock is ticking. It is in the interests of all that this decision is taken without further delay'.
