The 12th Ministerial Meeting between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia was held on 4 October 2016. It was attended by the EU's High-Representative for Foreign Policy, the European Commissioner for International Cooperation and the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries.

The meeting covered the overall development of relations between the European Union and Central Asia, as well as discussions on international issues of mutual interest. The importance of using the full potential of trade and investment relations was underlined. The EU representatives also stressed that for economic growth and private sector a good investment climate including good governance are essential for both European and local investors.
